This special Van Halen guitar, adorned with the Canadian flag, was played by the guitarist during a 1993 Canada Day concert.
Originally made in March 1993 and listed as the “Van Halen Transparent Purple Guitar,” it was transformed to feature the Canadian flag. The guitar boasts a maple neck, a basswood body, and the distinctive DiMarzio pickups.
The Van Halen Signature guitar made only one public appearance when the guitarist performed on July 1, 1993, at Molson Park in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. The guitar was unveiled as a surprise to the audience and a tribute to Canada. During the concert, Van Halen played iconic songs like “Jump,” “You Really Got Me,” and “Rockin’ In The Free World.”
Before its auction appearance, the guitar’s whereabouts were a mystery for the past three decades. It has reemerged with a black hard-shell case, concert tickets, and performance photos, making it a treasure for collectors and fans.
