Betty Preston Steele and Jamie Pauls are set to perform a duo piano concert titled “Betty and Jamie…Together Again” as part of the Chillicothe Area Arts Council’s fall 2024 season. The event will take place at the Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center in Chillicothe on September 28. The box office will open at 6 p.m., with the concert starting at 7 p.m.
Preston Steele announced that the performance will feature both musicians playing two grand pianos, arranged in a distinctive setup at opposite ends of the stage. The concert will showcase intricate musical pieces that, while challenging, are anticipated to be well-known to the audience.
Accompanying the duo will be Violinist Father Ryan Koster, Cellist Zeb Yoko, and Vocalist Mary Garr on selected pieces. The program will also highlight a patriotic segment honoring military personnel for their service.
In addition to their performance, Pauls and Preston Steele will offer insights into Pauls’ musical journey, including his experiences and challenges. Despite being blind from birth, Pauls began his musical training with Preston Steele as a young student.
Their last performance of “Together Again” in 2021 was met with great enthusiasm, featuring “Adventures of a Piano Lesson,” which they plan to reprise for this year’s concert.
Tickets for “Betty and Jamie…Together Again” are priced at $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Student tickets are available for $10, and Chillicothe Area Arts Council season ticket holders will be admitted free of charge. Advance ticket sales end on September 27 at 5 p.m.
