Music and Comedy Stars Take Audiences Back in Time

by Madonna

Australia’s top music and comedy performers, known for captivating audiences globally, are set to bring their talents to a unique, retro venue in Lyonville for an intimate live show experience.

With fewer than 40 guests allowed per show, these exclusive performances will last about 90 minutes. Simon Rogers, one of Australia’s most seasoned comedy hosts, will lead the event. He will chat with each performer about their careers, discussing their best and worst gigs, and inviting audience participation through questions.

Simon shares his enthusiasm for the small, cozy venue, which features classic movie seating, a tiny stage, chocolate tops for sale, plush red velvet curtains, and an intimate atmosphere. He emphasizes the uniqueness of the event, noting that these shows will not be recorded or made into podcasts.

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Australia’s best in music and comedy are right there with you, and if you’re not present, you’ll miss out!” says Simon.

“This isn’t like a TED talk or something you can revisit on YouTube. No bloopers will be turned into memes. It’s more like ‘Midnight in Paris,’ where you accidentally walk into a gathering of music and comedy legends who invite you to join the conversation.”

Set against the backdrop of a beautiful forest just outside Daylesford, this performance space is located at the charming Radio Springs Hotel in Lyonville. Guests can enjoy exquisite food and wine by a crackling fire, with the option to stay overnight in one of the hotel’s charming old-style rooms.

The “An Afternoon With…” series will run regularly on Sunday afternoons throughout 2024, with more headliners to be announced for 2025.

Notable upcoming performers include musical star Marina Prior and her actor husband Grant Piro on October 6, comedy icon Tony Martin on October 13, comedian and actor Damien Callinan on November 10, comedian and broadcaster Richard Stubbs on November 17, and the talented David Bridie of My Friend the Chocolate Cake and Not Drowning Waving on December 1.
