Pianist Aaron Le Maistre and trombone player Nathan Joseph will showcase their talents in a lunchtime concert at Bury Parish Church, scheduled for 12:30 PM.
Aaron, a 21-year-old multi-instrumentalist from Cheltenham, is currently in his third year at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester, where he studies piano under the esteemed international concert pianist Kathryn Stott. He has performed in numerous recitals in both Cheltenham and Jersey, including an exciting performance at the Gustav Holst Museum, where he played on Holst’s own piano.
As an ensemble musician, Aaron has been involved with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and served as principal viola for the CBSO Youth Orchestra. He has also held leadership roles in both the Gloucestershire Youth Orchestra and the Gloucestershire Youth Chamber Orchestra.
Nathan, hailing from North London, is in his second year at the RNCM, where he studies tenor trombone with Roger Cutts and sackbut with Sue Addison. He is also proficient in piano and plays both alto and bass trombones.
Currently, Nathan is the principal trombone of the Opera North Youth Orchestra and is a member of the emerging brass quintet, Paramount Brass. With this ensemble, he participates in recitals, competitions, and collaborates with local youth bands. During their first year at RNCM, Paramount Brass reached the finals of the Philip Jones Brass Chamber Prize.
In February, Nathan achieved notable success by winning the brass open solo and solo open competitions at the Mrs Sunderland Festival.
Tickets for the concert will be available for £5 at the door, and refreshments will be served starting at 11:15 AM.
