Eric Church Postpones SiriusXM Concert Amid North Carolina Flooding Crisis

by Madonna

Eric Church, who recorded his latest album, 2021’s Heart & Soul, in a makeshift studio in a closed restaurant in his home state of North Carolina, is heartbroken over the devastating flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. The flooding has severely affected western North Carolina, isolating mountain towns and leaving many residents without power, running water, or cell service.

“I’m devastated by the destruction in the mountains of western North Carolina. These are our family members, friends, and neighbors,” Church shared on social media. “The community we live in part of the year still has people stranded and desperate for extraction. The whole area is in dire need of help. Anyone who knows anything about me understands how much North Carolina, especially this mountainous region, means to me both personally and creatively.”

In light of this natural disaster, Church has postponed his live SiriusXM concert scheduled for Monday, September 30, at his Nashville venue, Chief’s. “While we’re still assessing the extent of destruction and harm, our hearts remain with the people, and our focus is on helping them,” he stated. The rescheduled concert, featuring a full-band performance in the intimate “Neon Steeple” venue at Chief’s, is now set for Tuesday, November 19.

Church also encouraged fans to support those affected by the flooding by directing them to the Red Cross. “To all the families and first responders, you are in our prayers, and we are doing everything we can to get you the help you need right now,” he added.
