The esteemed Bulgarian violinist Stoyka Milanova passed away yesterday at the age of 79.

After beginning her studies with her father, she continued her education under David Oistrakh. Milanova made a significant impact in the music world by securing third place at the 1967 Queen Elisabeth Competition, outperforming Gidon Kremer. She enjoyed a successful international career, frequently performing with pianist Radum Lupu as her recital partner. In later years, she collaborated with her daughter, Yova, on violin duets.
