On October 16, ten contestants advanced to the semifinal round of NTD’s 7th International Piano Competition, held at Merkin Hall in the Kaufman Music Center, New York.
The competition aims to promote the traditional arts characterized by authenticity, goodness, and beauty while reviving the glory of piano masterpieces from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic eras.
This year’s event includes a specially commissioned piece, reimagined from a vocal composition by D. F., the Artistic Director of Shen Yun Performing Arts. The commissioned piece, titled “Holy Grace,” is a symphonic poem rooted in classical Chinese music arranged for the piano.
Semifinalists will have the opportunity to compete for the “Best Rendition Award of the Commissioned Composition.”
The semifinals, finals, and winners’ concert will be open to the public and livestreamed on NTD’s and The Epoch Times’ websites and social media channels.
