On November 1, Sky Executive Director Pam Atchison announced that a guitar signed by Taylor Swift will be featured in a live auction at the upcoming “Christmas in the Sky” event on December 14. Titled “Christmas in the Sky: It’s Vegas Baby!” this fundraiser for the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) relies on the efforts of 500 volunteers and takes place at Louisiana Downs every other year.
Atchison revealed that the guitar is from Swift’s renowned ERAS Tour, which has captivated audiences worldwide, including in New Orleans. This signed instrument is one of 25 exceptional items being auctioned, with bids expected to reach impressive amounts.
“It is an amazing collector’s item,” Atchison remarked.
The Live Auction will be held at the 24 Karat Club, inviting high rollers to bid on luxurious items. A Golden Paddle raffle will also take place, ensuring one lucky winner receives a $10,000 bidding credit.
The event is produced under the leadership of SRAC Chairwoman Heidi Kallenberg, with Elizabeth Kennedy and Ro White serving as Co-Chairs. Veteran Sky Design Chair Linda B. Goldsberry leads the Production Team, while Carolyn Marston Brazzel acts as Sponsorship Chair. Henry Price serves as SRAC President, with top sponsorship provided by Dr. Michael T. Acurio and Louisiana Downs.
In addition to the live auction, the evening will feature a silent auction, themed sets designed by local artists, buffets, bars, and various entertainment options.
