A remarkable Swedish Elkhound (Jämthund) named Helix has captured the hearts of many with his musical talent. He creates beautiful melodies by walking across piano keys and singing in tune with the notes he plays. Most of the time, Helix produces surprisingly lovely chords. His owner, Tosha, explains that Helix often performs this musical routine when he seeks attention, approval, or simply wants to wake her up in the morning.
“It seems like he’s looking for some attention,” Tosha says. “Helix wanted me to get out of bed this morning, so he sang me a wake-up song.”
Tosha also adds that Helix only plays the piano when he feels like it. He is entirely self-taught and never plays on command. “I’ve never been able to get him to play on cue,” she shares. “The new move, where he gets up, spins, and plays with his back feet, is something he’s recently figured out. He’s always improving and growing.”
In addition to his piano skills, Helix also harmonizes with his brother, Chief, creating a truly unique musical duo.
