Legendary Australian Musician Mike Brady Appeals for the Return of Stolen Guitar

by Madonna

Legendary Australian musician Mike Brady is hoping for the safe return of his beloved guitar, which was stolen by an “opportunistic thief” in South Melbourne on Sunday.

Brady, best known for his iconic song “Up There Cazaly”, which he performs annually at the AFL Grand Final, described the guitar as “pretty unique” and emphasized that it would be difficult to sell due to its distinct features. Speaking to Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive, he expressed the emotional significance of the instrument, saying, “It’s almost a member of my family.”

In addition to his music career, Brady is also known for hosting the Mike ’til Midnight show on 3AW for 18 years. Reflecting on the loss, he humorously added, “They’ll probably have a state funeral for my missing guitar!”

Brady is hopeful that the distinctive nature of the guitar will lead to someone recognizing it, and he urges anyone with information to come forward to help reunite him with his treasured instrument.
