In a time when many music festivals are struggling, the Blues Guitar Roadshow stands out as a beacon of hope, consistently drawing full houses and receiving rave reviews. The highly anticipated ensemble spectacular will make its debut in Castlemaine on Saturday, November 23.
Described as “the thrill of a music festival in two and a half hours,” the Blues Guitar Roadshow offers a fresh and exciting format that has captivated audiences across the country.
The show features a stellar lineup of some of Australia’s most respected blues musicians, performing in showcase sets followed by a show-stopping All Star Jam.
Organized by John McNamara, who also runs the Ballarat Blues Festival and is part of the multi-award-winning act The McNaMarr Project, the Blues Guitar Roadshow promises an unforgettable experience.
“The show is unique every time,” McNamara explains. “The lineup changes, the song choices vary, but it’s always like lightning in a bottle. It’s a one-of-a-kind show because of its collaborative nature. You can really feel the chemistry on stage — the performers are having fun, and the audience picks up on that energy.”
The star-studded lineup for the Theatre Royal Castlemaine performance includes Lloyd Spiegel, Geoff Achison, Jimi Hocking (Screaming Jets), The McNaMarr Project (featuring Andrea Marr and John McNamara), George Kamikawa, Lisa Baird, Shane Gilbert, and a talented house band, among others.
“My goal is to deliver the best value-for-money show around,” McNamara says. “It’s slick, with Andrea Marr and Keith McNamara as MCs, and a fantastic group of performers coming together in a wonderful, fully seated venue.”
This performance marks the 12th show of the Blues Guitar Roadshow, with plans to hit the road in 2025 for a series of interstate performances.
“We have something really special here, and the future is looking bright,” McNamara adds.
