Notably, while the PRS SE Silver Sky’s reign at the top has ended, one clear takeaway from the list is the dominance of PRS and Fender, which together occupy eight of the top ten spots.
The list is led by the Fender Player Telecaster, a Mexican-made version of the iconic Telecaster. Following closely is the premium Fender American Professional II Stratocaster, with the PRS SE Silver Sky dropping to third place after holding the top position for two years.
While the Fender Player Telecaster at No. 1 isn’t surprising, considering its reputation for offering a high-quality, reasonably-priced instrument, it signals a shift in guitar preferences. The remaining spots are filled with models from both Fender and PRS, with the Gibson Les Paul Standard ’60s and ’50s occupying the sixth and seventh positions, respectively—solid contenders in Gibson’s current lineup.
