Native Instruments Launches Session Bassist – Jam Bass with Versatile Sound and Advanced Features

by Madonna

Native Instruments has launched Session Bassist – Jam Bass, a new virtual instrument designed to capture the distinctive sound of a classic dual-pickup electric bass. According to a spokesperson, the instrument offers a quick way to write bass parts across various genres, with over 280 playable patterns and phrases. It also provides an array of effects powered by Guitar Rig, allowing users to achieve the perfect tone.

Jam Bass is modeled after a high-quality, USA-made offset-body bass, known for its tonal versatility. The instrument is equipped with dual passive single-coil pickups, which allow players to mix the warmth of the neck pickup with the sharp, punchy clarity of the bridge pickup. This combination produces a smooth low end and a well-defined midrange. Advanced sampling and scripting contribute to a realistic playing experience, bringing out the full potential of the instrument.

With over 280 professionally-performed patterns spanning genres from intricate funk to tight rock and jazz grooves, the instrument provides an extensive library of options. Additionally, users can customize the sounds further using MIDI drag-and-drop functionality in their DAW.
