Yannick St. Amand, the original guitarist and producer for Despised Icon, faced a devastating loss on March 20th when a tragic home fire consumed his residence and studio, along with the majority of his and his family’s possessions.
In a recent interview, St. Amand expressed gratitude for the well-being of his family despite the material loss. He acknowledged the irreplaceable nature of items such as his instruments, equipment, and years of work stored on hard drives, including the unreleased material for the next Slingshot Brother album.
A GoFundMe initiative has been established to support St. Amand, his wife, and their four children during this challenging time.
Despised Icon issued a statement expressing solidarity with St. Amand and emphasizing his integral role within the band as both a musician and sound engineer. Despite having insurance, many essential items, particularly his music and sound equipment crucial for his livelihood, are not covered.
The band extended their heartfelt support to St. Amand and encouraged donations to the GoFundMe campaign to aid in alleviating the significant burden brought about by this tragic event.
