Whitburn Band is thrilled to announce the return of Colin Buchanan, who joins as the second trombonist. Colin brings a wealth of experience to the ensemble, having previously performed with Whitburn as well as with Unison Kinneil and Newtongrange Silver.
His impressive resume includes performances on renowned stages such as the British Open, the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain, and the European Brass Band Championships.
Colin’s arrival follows the departure of Emma Close, who leaves Whitburn to focus on her studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland after a successful tenure with the band.
Expressing gratitude to Emma for her contributions, Whitburn chairman Charlie Farren warmly welcomes Colin, expressing confidence in his abilities and emphasizing his anticipated impact on the trombone section.
