Violinist Bohdan Luts, a VC Artist, has recently inked a 2-year deal with “Nordic Artists” management, culminating in a solo album recorded with the Odense Symphony Orchestra under Orchid Classics. Titled “Dvořák – Bruch – Nielsen,” the album showcases Antonin Dvořák’s Violin Concerto Op. 53 in A Minor, Carl Nielsen’s 2 Fantasy Pieces Op. 2, and Max Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy Op. 46, all composed in the late 19th century.

Conducted by Anna Skryleva, the Odense Symphony Orchestra’s collaboration intertwines these pieces. Dvořák’s and Bruch’s compositions, rich with folk influences, have enjoyed widespread acclaim, contrasting with Nielsen’s lesser-known character piece. Originally scored for oboe and piano, Nielsen later adapted his fantasy for violin, a version popularized by violinist Hans Sitt and subsequently arranged for various accompaniments including orchestra, piano, and organ.
