Skipton Music has unveiled an exciting new six-concert series, showcasing performances from internationally acclaimed musicians and ensembles.
The series will begin on September 24 with a piano recital by Jeneba Kanneh-Mason, who gained prominence through her success in the BBC Young Musician competition and has since delivered standout performances at the Proms and other prestigious venues.
Audiences can also anticipate a performance by the consort singer ensemble The Gesualdo Six, who will be joined by trumpeter Matilda Lloyd. Their program, titled Radiant Dawn, will feature compositions ranging from the Renaissance to contemporary works.
The Solem Quartet, accompanied by violist Shiry Rashkovsky, will offer a blend of traditional and modern music, performing Mendelssohn’s Quintet No. 1 alongside a newly commissioned quintet by Errollyn Wallen.
After the holiday season, the Apollo Saxophone Quartet will present two distinct performances. The first will highlight compositions from a new generation of UK composers, while the second, Journey Across the Impossible, will combine music with silent film, marking a first for Skipton Music.
In February, the mood will shift with a performance by cellist Laura van der Heijden, who will be accompanied by pianist Jâms Coleman.
The season will conclude with the Kosmos Trio, offering a unique fusion of classical, world, and folk music.
Season tickets, available until August 31, offer significant savings. Frank Finlay, chair of Skipton Music, expressed his satisfaction with the strong line-up and the ability to maintain ticket prices for a third consecutive year. “With approximately six for the price of four single concert tickets, we believe this offers exceptional value. We’re particularly pleased with the quality of performers and are confident they will provide unforgettable experiences for our audiences,” Finlay said.
