On Tuesday morning, the iconic rock band Oasis confirmed their reunion tour for 2025. The band announced on social media: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”
Following the announcement, former England and Manchester United star Gary Neville shared on social media the brutal message Oasis star Noel Gallagher had inscribed on his guitar.
Neville posted on Instagram: “20 years old this thing and it feels like the day to bring it out again! Manchester’s second most famous brothers make a comeback!” The photo showed Gallagher’s message, which read: “Dear Gary. How many caps have you got for England? How many have you deserved? I’ll tell you… F****** NONE!! Lots of love, Noel Gallagher x M.C.F.C.”
In 2013, Neville admitted to being a huge fan of Oasis. He told Digital Spy: “I was a big Oasis fan. I started learning the guitar for a few years and just sent it to him one day. I got it back with that! Shouldn’t have been surprised, really!”
During a recent episode of “The Overlap,” Neville discussed which club he would have joined if he had ever left Manchester United during his career. He said: “I admire the lads that left in a way and how they speak different languages and played in different leagues. But I never wanted to leave. I’m so proud to say I played for Manchester United and that’s it. Full stop. I remember when I was 30, I decided I would retire if United didn’t offer me a new contract. Leaving United at that age never seemed to go well.”
Neville added: “I’m going to say Arsenal. Arsenal were the club that I genuinely had massive respect for. When I went to Highbury and you used to walk in that old entrance with the marble hall, I used to think it’s a club of proper tradition. I used to love the blazers that they used to wear and there is a resemblance in alignment for what United were at that time with the blazers and tradition.”
