Jimi Hendrix “Love Drops” Flying V: Epiphone and Gibson Custom Collaborate to Honor the Legendary Guitarist

by Madonna

For over 150 years, Epiphone has been at the forefront of instrument innovation, blending its storied past with a vision for the future. This commitment to excellence continues as Epiphone, in collaboration with Gibson Custom and the Hendrix family, proudly unveils the Jimi Hendrix™ “Love Drops” Flying V™. This guitar is a faithful recreation, inspired by Gibson Custom, of a model that Jimi Hendrix himself customized and frequently played between 1967 and 1969. Part of the Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom Collection, the “Love Drops” Flying V showcases the brand’s dedication to premium features, including advanced electronics and refined design elements.

“Jimi’s artistic expression was holistic; it extended far beyond his extraordinary music, into a realm of visual art that mirrored the beauty of his sound,” says Janie Hendrix, Jimi’s sister and President and CEO of Experience Hendrix LLC & Authentic Hendrix LLC. “When he hand-painted his Flying V, it was a reflection of his deep love for both his instrument and his music. Gibson has beautifully recreated Jimi’s artwork with the Epiphone series, and we are thrilled to partner with them! Watching Jimi’s creative vision come to life in this stunning collection is incredibly rewarding.”
