This December, Adelaide will launch a brand-new live music festival, Our Sound, showcasing Australia’s vibrant drum and bass scene. Organized by Groove Events, the festival will take place at Bonython Park/Tulya Wardli on Saturday, December 7.
The event will be headlined by legendary Perth act Pendulum (DJ El Hornet) performing an exclusive DJ set. Joining them is rising star Luude, who gained widespread attention in 2021 with his chart-topping remix of Men At Work’s “Down Under.”
In addition to these high-profile performances, local South Australian talent, including Voe, Patch, and The Collective, will be taking the stage to highlight the best of the region’s drum and bass artists.
Despite the challenges the live music industry is facing, Groove Events Director Daniel Michael is confident that Our Sound will succeed in filling a void in South Australia’s festival landscape.
“Drum and bass fans in the state have stayed loyal and passionate,” said Michael. “After the incredible response to Pendulum’s show at Gluttony in March, we wanted to go even bigger with Luude and a second stage.”
Michael emphasized that the festival is about creating an authentic experience. “Our Sound is a celebration of drum and bass, reflecting our culture, our music, and our vibe,” he added.
Both Pendulum and Luude have a strong following in Adelaide, with Pendulum selling out two nights at Gluttony’s ‘The Fantail’ earlier this year, and tickets for Luude’s April show at Hindley Street Music Hall selling out within hours. This response demonstrates Adelaide’s growing passion for the drum and bass genre, and Our Sound aims to keep that momentum alive.
