Acclaimed Malaysian classical guitarist YS Tang will make his highly anticipated debut in Singapore on October 12, 2024, at the MusArt Concert Hall, Raeburn Park. This performance is part of his 2024 tour, which also includes stops in Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Penang, and other cities across Malaysia.
For this Singapore recital, Tang has carefully selected a program that blends European and South American music, featuring works by Johann Sebastian Bach, renowned Spanish composers, and Brazilian guitar pieces. Drawing inspiration from the 19th-century ‘salon-style’ performances, Tang seeks to create an intimate atmosphere that highlights the storytelling power of the classical guitar.
With over 25 years of experience and a Master’s Degree in Music Performance from Texas Tech University, Tang has established himself as a key figure in the classical music world. In addition to performing, he is committed to broadening the classical guitar’s appeal through public seminars and youth outreach initiatives. His extensive repertoire, ranging from Bach to Barrios, reflects his deep passion for early music and collaborative chamber ensembles.
Tang’s Singapore recital is expected to be more than just a concert—it will be a celebration of classical music’s enduring ability to bridge cultures and generations. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet the artist during a post-performance autograph session.
