Chen Lih-Fong and Huang Pei-Han, members of the MIT Saxophone Ensemble, will perform together in a duet concert titled “Saxophone Couple.” The performances are scheduled for September 21 at the Taichung National Theater’s Small Theater, with two shows, and will move to the Taipei National Concert Hall on November 21. The concerts will showcase their refined interpretation and exceptional synergy in saxophone chamber music.
Chen Lih-Fong and Huang Pei-Han are leading saxophone performers in Taiwan, having both pursued advanced studies abroad. Chen earned his master’s degree at the Amsterdam Conservatory in the Netherlands and has achieved notable success on European music stages. Upon returning to Taiwan, he became one of the country’s most active saxophonists and the principal saxophonist of the MIT Saxophone Ensemble. Chen participates in approximately 60 performances each year and, after completing eight concerto performances in 2024, has focused on preparing for this duet concert.
Huang Pei-Han graduated with top honors from the Paris Municipal Conservatory in France, earning a Diplôme d’Études Musicales (DEM). Returning to Taiwan, Huang began her saxophone career with the MIT Saxophone Ensemble. She has represented the ensemble in numerous concerto performances, including the closing concert of the Weiwuying International Music Festival and collaborations with the Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra and the Taipei Symphony Orchestra’s wind ensemble. Huang has also successfully produced musical theater pieces such as “Wind Light” and “Saxophone Mysteries,” guiding the ensemble into diverse musical realms.
