A limited edition electric guitar is among 200 items that global superstar Ed Sheeran has donated for an auction benefiting a hospice and young adult service.
Fans can bid on various items, including Ipswich Town Football Club shirts, merchandise from his tours, and even his trainers.
The auction will take place at Bishop & Miller Auctioneers, located at 19 Charles Industrial Estate in Stowmarket, starting at 19:00 BST on Thursday. Proceeds from the auction will support St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich and its young adult service, Zest. The charity expressed gratitude for Sheeran’s “amazing generosity.”
Clare Chater, director of income at the hospice, said, “We’d like to thank Ed for his amazing generosity in donating such a fantastic series of items for the auction. It’s a truly unique opportunity for all Ed Sheeran fans. Our thanks also go to Bishop & Miller for hosting the auction, which will raise vital funds to support our services.”
The hospice team supports thousands of individuals each year across East & Mid Suffolk, Great Yarmouth, and Waveney. Chater emphasized, “We’re reliant on donations and fundraising to continue our work, and every penny raised by the auction will make a difference to those under our care.”
Among the notable items, Sheeran’s Fernandes Zo-3 Pokémon-themed electric guitar is expected to fetch between £500 and £1,000. The guitar features the Pokémon character Pikachu on a vibrant yellow background. An Ipswich Town away shirt from the 2021/22 season, emblazoned with “Sheeran” and the number 17, was initially expected to bring in around £80 but has already surpassed £400 in online bids. A similar Galway Gaelic football shirt is anticipated to sell for £30 to £50.
Various tops from Sheeran’s Divide Tour are estimated to sell for about £50 each. Additionally, a sealed box of Apple AirPods Max, featuring special packaging for the Asian Music Awards Show in 2021, is expected to reach up to £400. The auction will also include two giant teddy bear toys and a Lego set of The Hobbit.
Items will be available for viewing starting at 16:00 before the auction kicks off.
Oliver Miller, managing director of Bishop & Miller Auctioneers, expressed pride in supporting St Elizabeth Hospice. “We are expecting global interest in this auction as Ed is so well known worldwide, so watch this space; who knows how far his items will travel? If you are an Ed Sheeran fan and want to own a piece of something that he has owned, then this is the place to find them.”
