Ghanaian rapper Ruth Nyame Adom, popularly known as Eno Barony, recently shared a video highlighting her musical talents developed from a young age.
The 32-year-old artist grew up in Ashaiman, raised by her parents, Reverend Abraham Nyame Adom and Mrs. Rebecca Nyame Adom. In previous statements, Eno Barony has discussed the challenges she faced growing up in a conservative Christian household and balancing her music career after graduating from Tema Senior High School.
In 2022, she revealed that she was prohibited from listening to secular music and that church members would display her photo during services, praying for her career to fail.
Despite these challenges, Eno Barony’s upbringing had its advantages, allowing her to cultivate her musical passion with access to instruments early on.
In a recent interview, the “Heavy Load” hitmaker demonstrated her impressive skills on the drum set, seamlessly playing while singing with the poise of a church leader.
Fans have responded enthusiastically to her performance, with Eno Barony being recognized as the first Ghanaian female rapper to achieve one million hits on YouTube.
Kwame Ghana Adomako commented, “Wow, drumming and singing awesome, she’s a talent.”
Emmanuel Mensah added, “Yes, the family is taking over… Eno, you do all… Ashaiman to the world 🌎.”
Vessel Sammy remarked, “You can clearly see that she is a church talent, but there was no help from the church.”
Philip Kwaku Asante Krobea, a fellow drummer, noted, “I’m a drummer and sometimes I sing while drumming. I tell you, it’s not as easy as she made it seem. It’s really tough to sing in key and play the drums in correct timing simultaneously. Eno really did great.”
