Ben Hakalitz Launches Drum Series to Honor Legacy and Inspire Future Musicians

by Madonna

In the music industry, few names resonate as strongly as Ben Hakalitz. A master drummer, percussionist, and music producer, he is celebrated for his innovative rhythms and captivating stage presence. With his latest venture, the Hakalitz Drum Series, Hakalitz not only reflects on his years of artistry but also honors a promise he made to his father: to elevate the Hakalitz name to global recognition.

In a recent interview with Post Courier, Ben passionately shared his journey as both a dreamer and a drummer. He recounted the life lessons that have shaped him and the fulfillment of a dream that has been seven years in the making. “A friend encouraged me to start my own company and create my own drum kits. I had never considered branching out like this before, but I took the idea and ran with it. I always viewed my name as a mentor to the younger generation. By achieving this dream, I can continue offering drum classes for kids eager to learn,” he stated.

Ben explained that the maple shells for his drums are currently custom-made overseas, with plans to establish a drum shell factory in Papua New Guinea. He also aims to create a Music Academy, providing children with opportunities to pursue careers in music.

The EH (Emmanuel Hakalitz) series features a birch shell, 5-piece drum kit priced at K3,997. Ideal for children, it comes in three colors: Green Sparkle, Blue Sparkle, and Red Sparkle. The limited-edition BHM series, dedicated to Ben’s late brother, David Hakalitz, is a professional model with custom designs and colors. With only 15 units available, this kit is priced at K15,000.

Additionally, Ben is designing a special drum kit to commemorate the upcoming 50th independence anniversary of Papua New Guinea. These series not only showcase Ben’s artistry but also provide aspiring drummers with the essential tools to thrive.

As Ben continues to tour with Yothu Yindi and promote his drum series, he remains connected to his roots, mentoring young musicians and encouraging them to pursue their dreams. His story exemplifies resilience, passion, and the importance of keeping promises, ensuring that his father’s legacy inspires a new generation to find their voices and make their mark on the global stage.
