AlphaTheta has introduced a new four-channel DJ controller, the DDJ-GRV6, compatible with both rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro. Set to launch this October, the exact release date is yet to be confirmed.
The standout feature of the DDJ-GRV6 is the Groove Circuit, which allows DJs to effortlessly manipulate drum parts and create original grooves. While using rekordbox, DJs can simply press dedicated buttons to replace the drum part of any track with beats or breaks from entirely different genres during playback, enhancing their sound with effects.
In conjunction with Serato DJ Pro, the DDJ-GRV6 also offers the ability to manipulate and separate Stems through the Stems FX feature. The controller’s layout draws inspiration from Pioneer DJ’s CDJ and DJM setups, providing a familiar feel for users accustomed to club-standard equipment. Since becoming Pioneer’s parent company in 2020, AlphaTheta has stated that future DJ products will carry the AlphaTheta name, reserving the Pioneer DJ name for older models.
Additionally, the DDJ-GRV6 features a Smart Rotary Selector and Discover function, designed to streamline the track browsing and selection process. Compatible with both PC/Mac and mobile devices, the controller boasts a sleek matte black finish and ergonomic design. Its minimalistic display includes indicators for easy access to essential functions, with the Groove Circuit conveniently positioned above the Performance Pads to prevent accidental touches to the jog wheel during use.
