Damian Steven Channels Drum & Bass and Hardcore Punk on Solo Debut ‘I Could Get Lost’

by Madonna

Damian Steven is no stranger to wearing multiple hats. When he’s not playing bass for post-rock band 7nightsatsea or collaborating with local talents like Wovensound and Shwin in the group ABSRD, he’s busy with his day job as Senior Music Supervisor for Big Sync Music.

Incredibly, Damian has also launched a new solo project, T.HIRST, which is making waves in the alternative dance scene. His new venture blends bass music with hardcore punk, described as a fusion of “The Bloody Beetroots meets Bring Me The Horizon.” With his underground music roots, T.HIRST’s sound combines the energy of bass-heavy beats with punk influences.

For an even more electrifying experience, Damian’s hybrid DJ sets as T.HIRST feature live vocals, guitars, drums, and even a foot-controlled light show—making his performances as dynamic as his music.

T.HIRST recently debuted its first single, I Could Get Lost, with production support from Sun Cell, who also handled additional recording, mixing, and mastering. Damian describes the track as a culmination of years of work, saying, “‘I Could Get Lost’ is my official debut as T.HIRST, shaped by hundreds of demos and life lessons over the past seven years. It’s the product of every disappointment and every instrument I’ve picked up along the way. A wild mix of drum & bass and hardcore punk, it strays from typical bass music.”

In addition to the debut single, Damian revealed that more genre-bending tracks are on the way, including a big room track with hardcore vocals, a punk-techno mashup, and even a folk song recorded in a single take.

The release of I Could Get Lost is accompanied by a striking music video directed by Jeremy Steven, with support from Juan Qi An and Taufiq Jafaar, adding a visual element to Damian’s bold new sound.
