Rory Gallagher’s renowned Fender Stratocaster is making its way back to Cork. The legendary guitar was purchased for €1 million by Live Nation Gaiety during a London auction.
During an appearance on the Neil Prendeville Show, Sheena Crowley of Crowley’s Music Centre in Cork confirmed that the entire Gallagher family is eager to have the guitar returned to its hometown. She said, “He’s on a high now, and I was super hyper last night talking to Daniel. My mind was racing as we all wanted it in Cork. It’s incredible, absolutely fabulous. Just imagine if it had gone elsewhere. What a relief that it didn’t, and they stepped in to do the right thing.”
