The competition was held at the Kaufman Music Center in New York City from October 14 to October 19.
As part of a series of international cultural and arts events sponsored by NTD Television Network, the International Piano Competition aims to promote traditional arts that embody pure authenticity, goodness, and beauty.
Participants performed piano pieces from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods, alongside a special commissioned work rearranged from a vocal piece by D. F., the Artistic Director of Shen Yun Performing Arts. This year’s commissioned composition, “Holy Grace,” is a symphonic poem that showcases classical Chinese music for the piano.
Semifinalists had the opportunity to compete for the “Best Rendition Award of the Commissioned Composition.”
Before the awards were announced, a winners’ concert featured performances by this year’s finalists, as well as special appearances by Vladimir Petrov, the Gold Award winner of NTD’s 2019 International Piano Competition, and acclaimed pianists Kiron Atom Tellian, Arseniy Gusev, and Asiya Korepanova.
