BOSS has officially launched the GX-10, a versatile new amplifier and effects processor designed for guitar and bass players.
A representative stated, “Featuring the core sound engine and color touch display from the acclaimed GX-100 released in 2022, the GX-10 delivers the same inspiring experience in a more compact format. With multi-mode footswitches, an integrated expression pedal, and USB audio connectivity, the GX-10 effortlessly transitions from stage performances to desktop recording, song creation, and daily practice sessions.”
The GX-10 offers a wide range of ultra-responsive tones packed into a travel-friendly design. Musicians can choose from 23 guitar amps and nine bass amps, including high-gain models like X-Ultra, X-Optima, and X-Titan, all developed with BOSS’s latest modeling technologies. Additionally, players can enhance their sound with 170 different effects, featuring overdrives, distortions, modulation effects, delays, and reverbs, along with dedicated bass effects and BOSS classics such as Slow Gear, Octave, and Slicer.
Creating sounds quickly is made easy with the GX-10’s user-friendly color touch display and four dynamic parameter knobs. Each memory can support up to two amps and 15 effects, and users can easily modify the order of effects or set up series or parallel routings by dragging blocks on the screen. The device also includes send/return jacks to integrate favorite pedals or an amp’s effects loop into the signal flow.
The GX-10 offers flexible control options for real-time sound adjustments during performances. It features multiple control modes and user-assignable settings, allowing maximum versatility with just three footswitches. By default, the expression pedal toggles between volume and wah effects and activates the tuner when pulled back, but it can be customized to control nearly any parameter through the GX-10’s assign matrix.
BOSS Tone Studio enhances the user experience by allowing sound editing and the loading of custom speaker cabinet impulse responses (IRs) from Mac or Windows computers. The GX-10 is also compatible with the optional Bluetooth® Audio MIDI Dual Adaptor, enabling wireless editing via the mobile app.
Additionally, BOSS Tone Studio provides tools to organize sounds for various gigs and playing situations, along with direct access to BOSS Tone Exchange, an online platform for downloading professionally created sounds and sharing GX-10 Livesets with the global BOSS community. Notably, GX-100 Livesets are fully compatible with the GX-10. The device also features a built-in USB-C® audio interface for capturing high-quality guitar tones in music production applications on both computers and mobile devices.
