The UAE is set to amplify its music scene as the Dubai Drum and Bass Festival arrives on November 16. Headlining the event at P7 Arena, Media One, is the British artist Goldie.
The festival boasts a diverse lineup, featuring DJs Adam Yeomans, Finlay LeFox, Kira, and Motion. Additionally, the Emirates DNB’s Bassworx x Signal x Unity will showcase Cruz, Slater, and Woodle. Goldie expressed his excitement, stating, “I’m buzzing to bring that desert heat indoors for Project 174.”
Born Clifford Joseph Price in Walsall, England, Goldie began his career as a breakdancer and graffiti artist. In the 1990s, he emerged as a key figure in the UK’s drum and bass movement, releasing tracks under the name Rufige Kru and co-founding the influential label Metalheadz. After relocating to the United States, he sold gold grills, earning the nickname Goldilocks.
Throughout his career, Goldie has released notable albums, including The Journey Man, Timeless, and Saturnz Return, with hit singles like “Angel,” “Digital,” and “Inner City Life.” His music uniquely blends electronic, jungle, and drum and bass elements.
In addition to his music career, Goldie has appeared in films such as the James Bond installment The World is Not Enough and Guy Ritchie’s Snatch, as well as the BBC soap opera EastEnders.
