Scotty McCreery and his wife Gabi are embracing the joys of toddlerhood as they celebrate their son Avery’s second birthday.
It feels like just yesterday that the country couple welcomed their first child, but this month, they’re throwing a lively birthday party filled with cars, cake, and a special drum set that suits their little music enthusiast perfectly.
“Swipe to see Avery’s first drum solo,” Gabi captioned a birthday post shared by the couple on Wednesday (Oct. 30).
In the video, Avery showcases his natural talent as he sits at his shiny new drum set, immediately going for the kick drum pedal and beaming at his fans while playing. After his solo, Scotty can be heard singing a snippet of Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin'” in the background.
Avery’s affinity for drumming is no surprise, given that he’s been on the road with his dad almost since birth, traveling in a customized “baby bus.” He’s even made several public appearances, including a memorable moment onstage during Scotty’s cover of John Michael Montgomery’s “Be My Baby Tonight” when he was just a few months old.
The McCreerys also shared snapshots from Avery’s birthday celebration, giving a glimpse into the interests of their newly minted two-year-old. His birthday cake was themed after the movie Cars, complete with cake toppers of Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater. Racing flags adorned the party, along with a road-themed banner that read “Two Fast.”
Throughout the festivities, little Avery enjoyed driving a kid-sized red car, offering joyrides to his party guests.
In other news, McCreery recently participated in the Concert for Carolina, an all-star benefit show alongside Luke Combs and Eric Church, which raised funds for those affected by Hurricane Helene. As a proud North Carolina native, McCreery often expresses his commitment to supporting his home state.
