On the 6th, the 2024 Xiamen International Piano Competition came to a close after ten days of competition.
This event, a key highlight of the “Decade·Answer – 6th Central Conservatory of Music 10·15 Arts Festival,” began on October 26 and attracted over 150 contestants from 17 countries. As a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC), the competition brought together nine renowned piano masters and distinguished educators from both China and abroad, aiming to establish an internationally acclaimed music event.
The competition was open to the public free of charge, featuring eight masterclasses and four community concerts performed by the contestants. After four rounds of selection by an international jury, six finalists advanced to the final stage. In the end, Russian contestant Philipp Lenov, Chinese contestant Li Zhexiang, and German contestant Ron Maxim Huang claimed the top three positions.
During the closing ceremony, the six finalists performed, showcasing their remarkable skills. The competition concluded with a performance by the champion, Lenov, who joined Chinese conductor Li Jingzhan, a faculty member of the Central Conservatory of Music’s conducting department, and the Central Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra, marking a perfect conclusion to this prestigious event.
