Alex Lifeson of Rush is unveiling yet another new guitar through his company, Lerxst. The latest offering, the Grace limited-edition signature guitar, was created in collaboration with Canadian guitar makers Godin Guitars.
The Grace guitar draws inspiration from Lifeson’s iconic Hentor Sportscaster, the instrument he used in 1984 while recording and touring for Rush’s 10th studio album, Grace Under Pressure. Much like the original, the new guitar features a striking red finish paired with a mirror pickguard.
This marks the second guitar released by Lerxst. The first, the Limelight guitar, was based on the Hentor Sportscaster Lifeson played prior to recording Moving Pictures in 1981.
“We were blown away by the positive feedback we got from the release of Limelight earlier this year and knew we wanted to do another one,” Lifeson said. “With Grace, we wanted to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Grace Under Pressure by building off my favorite guitar from that period. Much like Limelight, we’ve evolved the concept to create an instrument that delivers modern sound and playability for today’s players.”
Lifeson adds, “It’s a beautiful instrument that suits many different styles of playing, and the mirrored pickguard comes in handy for late-night sessions when you need, uh, to check your hair or something.”
The Grace guitar combines Lifeson’s unique legacy with updated features, making it a must-have for both collectors and modern players alike.
