Developer Modartt has released the beautiful-sounding Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano for Pianoteq.
The price for the Pianoteq 8 PRO Studio bundle (which includes all piano models) ranges from €139 to €929.
Current Pianoteq users can add the Shigeru model for €49.99.
Unlike most other instruments, Pianoteq is a physical modeling instrument rather than a deep-sampled sound library.
It is designed to provide an unparalleled level of realism by simulating the behavior of each piano element during real-time pitch generation, offering a full polyphonic experience, much like Roland’s V-Piano engine.
The news of Kawai’s rare flagship concert grand piano being modeled physically is an exciting development.
From the handcrafted bass strings and Shiko Seion hammers to the dual-pivot dampers and full spruce beams, many meticulously designed details contribute to the magic of the Shigeru SK-EX concert grand piano.
