Bradford Cathedral is set to host its weekly free organ recitals once again.
The ‘Wednesday@One’ recitals will take place every Wednesday at 1 pm, starting on January 8 and running through April 16. However, there will be no recital on February 19. Each recital will last approximately 45 minutes.
Admission is free, though donations are encouraged.
An optional buffet lunch will be available before each recital, starting at 12:30 pm, for a cost of £4.
Attendees are also invited to explore the cathedral before and after the recitals.
This season will feature 14 organists, with Michael Haynes from Hexham Abbey kicking off the series on January 8.
The recital season is part of the ‘Creativity Under Pressure’ theme, which is a key focus of Bradford Cathedral’s programming for the UK City of Culture year.
In the week leading up to each recital, an interview with the featured organist will be available on the Bradford Cathedral website.
The lineup of organists includes Oliver Waterer, Emma Gibbins, David Cowen, John Hosking, Anthony Gray, Will Campbell, Pete Gunstone, James Davy, Graham Thorpe, Mark Brafield, Victoria Ulriksen, Alex Binns, and Lee Ward.
