Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson, known for his technical and precise playing style as “#7,” has unveiled his very own LTD MT-I signature guitar, crafted by ESP. The new guitar is introduced in a debut video, showcasing its impressive features.
The LTD MT-I guitar comes in a striking metallic obsidian finish and features an MH-style body with an arched top and reverse inline headstock. It also boasts a set-thru construction at a 25.5″ scale, a mahogany body topped with white ash, a three-piece maple neck, and a Macassar ebony fingerboard with a compound radius and 24 medium-jumbo stainless steel frets.
Thomson made sure his signature guitar was uniquely tailored to his needs with some custom enhancements. It includes a Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL nut, Hipshot grip-lock locking open-gear tuners, an all-brass Hipshot hi-mass hardtail bridge, and blue Luminlay side markers. Additionally, the guitar is equipped with a Fishman Fluence Mick Thomson signature pickup, allowing for a versatile range of tones. The three-way low-profile toggle switch selects between Voice 1, Voice 1 with bass boost shift, and Voice 2, while a push/pull volume control selects Voice 3.
The LTD MT-I guitar comes with an ESP hardshell form-fit case for protection and convenience.
