While NAMM 2025 is still set to proceed as planned, some companies are choosing not to participate in light of the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles, California. Maybach Guitars has announced they will not be attending the event this year as a gesture of solidarity with those affected by the devastating fires.
In a statement shared on social media, Maybach Guitars explained their decision: “After careful consideration, we at Maybach Guitars have decided not to attend the NAMM Show this year. This was not an easy decision, as NAMM has always been an incredible opportunity to connect with our community, showcase our instruments, and celebrate the music industry. However, the devastating wildfires currently raging across California have created a situation that demands responsibility and sensitivity.”
Although Anaheim, where NAMM will take place, is not directly affected by the fires, Maybach expressed concern about the broader impact on the environment, local communities, and public safety. The company emphasized that the timing is not right for such an event when so many people are enduring hardship. “We believe it is not the right time to gather for an event of this nature when so many are facing hardship. The safety of our team, partners, and the global community is our highest priority,” the statement read.
Maybach further stated that it was crucial to show solidarity with those suffering from the fires. “Many people have lost their homes, and shelters are in desperate need of space and resources for those displaced by the fires,” they continued. Instead of participating in the event, the company plans to explore other ways to stay connected with their community and share their passion for music and craftsmanship in the months ahead.
The statement concluded with heartfelt sympathy: “We extend our deepest sympathies to everyone impacted by the wildfires and thank the responders and volunteers working tirelessly in these difficult circumstances. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Stay safe and take care of each other.”
