Guitar cables, often overlooked in favor of more glamorous gear, play a crucial role in shaping your tone. You may not realize the importance of a good cable until you encounter a poor one, which can subtly degrade your sound quality.
Ahead of NAMM 2025, Ibanez has teamed up with JTC, a digital guitar education platform, to introduce what they claim is the “world’s most advanced guitar cable.” This innovative product, featuring Glideline technology, is described as a breakthrough in cable design, catering to both novice and professional players.
The key feature of the Ibanez Glideline cable lies in its ability to “elevate signal chain and eliminate any compromise to your tonal identity.” The cable is engineered to transmit a high-resolution signal from electric guitars to amplifiers, audio interfaces, and amp modelers with precision.
Crafted from high-quality materials, the Glideline cable includes specialized insulation layers, an ion-plated copper cap, and semi-conductive, braided shields that protect its core. These components were carefully selected for their low capacitance, allowing for a natural, unaltered sound that flows seamlessly through the cable and unlocks the full tonal potential of your instrument.
The Ibanez Glideline cable is priced at £40 (around $50) and is currently available only in straight jack variants. For more details, visit Ibanez.
