Seven-time Grammy Award winner and Academy Award recipient Jon Batiste made a memorable appearance at the 2025 Big Game, performing the National Anthem on a custom-painted Yamaha Silent Grand Piano.
In collaboration with Batiste’s wife, Emmy Award-winning journalist and New York Times best-selling author Suleika Jaouad, Yamaha brought this unique piano to life. Jaouad, an artist in her own right, designed the intricate painting on both the piano and its matching bench. The artwork featured a striking butterfly, symbolizing resilience, beauty, and grace.
To mark this special occasion in Batiste’s hometown, the one-of-a-kind Yamaha piano is now on display at the Lapis Center for the Arts, located at the New Orleans Museum of Art. This offers both locals and visitors the chance to experience this remarkable piece up close.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jon Batiste to the Yamaha family,” said Chris Gero, Vice President and Chief Artist Relations Executive at Yamaha Artist Relations Group. “His incredible performance at Football’s Biggest Night is just a preview of the exciting collaboration ahead.”
Earlier this year, Batiste wowed audiences at The NAMM Show in Anaheim, California, the world’s largest music trade event. He energized the crowd with a performance of “Oh When The Saints Go Marching In” on a Yamaha pianica.
