After 40 years in the music industry, including 20 years as a founding member of the band Entrain, Sam Holmstock has shifted his focus to teaching. In Cotuit, he now leads the Drumming Through Trauma workshop, which aims to help individuals heal from difficult experiences. The class, which is offered free to veterans and first responders, meets once a week and focuses on hand drumming. Holmstock explains that the primary goal is to provide participants with an hour of relaxation, helping them feel better. As one group member described it, the experience is like receiving a “massage of the brain.”
Meanwhile, Blue Man Group, celebrating its 30th anniversary in Boston, continues to thrive with a fresh and engaging show. Musical Director and House Drummer Randy Wooten shared that the group recently revamped their performance, adding new pieces, enhanced audience participation, and updated video and sound elements.
The group will also be performing additional shows throughout Massachusetts during the school vacation week.
