David Vesey, a talented Laois musician known for his classical performances across the country, has made an online appeal after losing his flute in Dublin. The musician shared that the flute holds immense sentimental value for him.
On Wednesday, February 12, Vesey posted a message on social media detailing his loss. He wrote: “I have lost my flute, either on a Dublin Bus or on an Irish Rail/Enterprise service from Belfast to Dublin earlier today. I took the Enterprise train from Belfast to Dublin at 12pm.”
Vesey continued, explaining his travels: “I was on an E1/E2 Dublin Bus to Stillorgan from D’Olier Street at around 2.30pm and returned to the city centre from Stillorgan at approximately 8pm.”
In his appeal, Vesey included images resembling his flute case and described distinguishing features. “My flute case has a gold Meitheal Irish Trad Music Summer School sticker on one side, a Pipers Cross Céili Band sticker, as well as a sticker with my name and phone number on the front.”
The musician added that the flute is of great sentimental importance to him and that he is offering a reward for its safe return. “I would appreciate it if you could share this with anyone you may know at Irish Rail/Translink/Dublin Bus,” he said.
Vesey thanked the public for their help in searching for the lost instrument.
