The Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra has secured three nominations for this year’s Anděl Awards, which are set to be presented in April. Among the nominated albums is Forgotten Czech Piano Concertos, which has been recognized in the Classical Music category. This edition of Sunday Music Show will spotlight the album, which features works by 19th- and 20th-century composers who, despite their contributions, have not attained the same level of fame as Dvořák or Martinů.
The album is the culmination of extensive research and exploration by composer and organist Marek Kozák, who has dedicated himself to uncovering lesser-known Czech piano compositions. The featured works were composed by Karel Kovařovic, Vítězslava Kaprálová, and Pavel Bořkovec. Kozák recorded these pieces in collaboration with the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Robert Jindra.
