Jessin Hood, the organizer behind the Harwich Drum Women community gatherings, is bringing a new shamanic women’s drum circle to Harwich. Hood, who has previously hosted guided “moonlight myths” tours around Old Harwich, now operates out of a newly transformed space called ‘The Drey,’ a mobile unit located at Harwich Space on George Street.
She describes the space as “a bit hidden, a bit wild,” adding, “It’s a place woven from wood, warmth, and the quiet hum of community.” Hood further explains that it’s a sanctuary, “somewhere to gather when the world outside feels cold.”
In its first week, the space has already served its purpose as a nurturing environment, providing a cozy corner for children to craft while parents chat over coffee, offering support for someone struggling with debt, and hosting events for drumming, singing, and growing both physically and spiritually.
