Nuno Bettencourt has lavished praise on young Australian guitarist Taj Farrant, comparing him to legendary guitarists Eddie Van Halen and Stevie Ray Vaughan, describing him as “reincarnated into one body.”
Social media and content platforms have allowed young talents to rise to prominence, often surpassing the accomplishments of their predecessors. Taj Farrant is a perfect example of this trend. His career began on Australia’s Got Talent and The Ellen Show, later leading him to share the stage with music icons such as Santana, Orianthi, and Rob Thomas. Taj’s blend of exceptional skills and youth has caught the attention of many, including Bettencourt, who was clearly impressed by the young guitarist’s talent.
In a recent post on social media, Bettencourt referred to the 15-year-old as a “true hero in our midst,” adding:
“Yes, the internet is full of incredible players, especially technical virtuosos. But it’s rare to witness that level of technical mastery combined with raw emotion. We might be looking at the future of guitar heroes. He shreds the blues… but MORE IMPORTANTLY, he does it with Soul, Passion, and Fire.”
Bettencourt went on to share an even more profound compliment:
“It’s like God was doing his weekly reincarnations… but on this day, enjoying a drink, convinced Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eddie Van Halen to merge into one body… and just for fun, threw in Michael Jordan’s fingers. Dangerous. Inspiring.”
He concluded with an enthusiastic message of admiration for Farrant’s live performances:
“And this is all happening LIVE on stage… not the safety of a bedroom or studio. I truly don’t care about your age… I’m in awe of YOU. Chills watching this. I must have rewatched it a dozen times. You are fierce… it’s all pouring out of you… Go get it, kid…”
