Nevermore, the progressive/thrash metal band recently reactivated after a long hiatus, has revealed a new lineup featuring a fresh vocalist, bassist, and second guitarist. This marks the band’s return following their disbandment in 2011, which followed the departures of founding members Jeff Loomis and Van Williams. The band’s original frontman, Warrel Dane, tragically passed away in late 2017.
In a statement posted on social media, Loomis and Williams shared their excitement about the new chapter of Nevermore:
“The wait is over! We are beyond excited to announce that after an incredible audition process, we’ve assembled a lineup that honors our legacy while forging a new path forward.”
The band also expressed their gratitude to all those who auditioned, emphasizing the high level of talent and passion they encountered: “We want to extend a massive thank you to everyone who took the time to submit auditions. The level of talent and passion we saw was truly inspiring, and we deeply appreciate each and every one of you who put your heart into this process. Your support and patience during this time has meant the world to us, and we can’t wait to share what’s next!”
The statement concluded with a promise of more exciting news to come: “Stay tuned there’s a lot coming your way soon! We’re gearing up for the next chapter of Nevermore, and we promise it will be worth the wait.”
While the band has been reformed with new members, it’s worth noting that founding bassist Jim Sheppard is not part of the reunion, though the reasons for his exclusion have not been disclosed. Fans eagerly await what’s next for Nevermore.
