This Saturday, the 2025 American Piano Awards in Indianapolis will name its winner, with Avery Gagliano among the five talented pianists competing for the prestigious title.
Held every four years for classical pianists, the competition offers a prize package worth over $200,000, including a residency at the University of Indianapolis and various career-enhancing opportunities.
“It’s been really a big blessing to be able to do what I love and to travel the world and share music with so many people,” Gagliano shared about her journey as a pianist.
The American Piano Awards, which alternates every two years between jazz and classical music, is one of the most esteemed piano competitions in the country, drawing top young musicians.
Each finalist has already secured a $25,000 cash prize and is competing for the distinguished title of Christel DeHaan Fellow in Classical.
The competition features performances with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra on Friday and Saturday, with the winner announced after the final performance.
While the grand prize is significant, Gagliano emphasized that for her, the true reward lies in the experience of making music and sharing it with others.
