Pat Sheridan, guitarist of the metal band Fit For An Autopsy, has officially introduced Sight For Sound—a new initiative designed to provide free eyewear, both prescription and non-prescription, to eligible touring musicians and crew members.
This new program operates through NEVEN Eyewear, where Sheridan holds the role of Director of Partnerships. It was developed in collaboration with NEVEN founder Jonathan Strauss, with the goal of making eye care accessible to those in the touring music industry.
The program specifically targets U.S.-based professionals who are actively involved in at least 75 or more shows per year. Those who meet the criteria are encouraged to sign up and get fitted for eyewear at no cost.
NEVEN Eyewear, founded by Strauss and his wife in their home, has quickly gained recognition within the metal music community. The brand has already partnered with notable artists such as Gary Holt (Exodus), Tanner Wayne (In Flames), Zach Johnson (The Ghost Inside), Tony Foresta (Municipal Waste), and Phil Sgrosso (Saosin).
Sheridan expressed his passion for the project, stating:
“Our Sight for Sound programme is life-changing for musicians and crew members. I’ve been in the extreme music scene since the ’90s, and vision has never been addressed before. Musicians aren’t offered a 401K plan, health insurance, or vision benefits. It’s an honour to save music industry professionals thousands of dollars a year.”
The Sight For Sound initiative stands out as a practical, supportive step forward for the hardworking individuals who keep the live music world running—from onstage performers to behind-the-scenes crew.
