The Ohio State University Marching Band, famously known as “The Best Damn Band in the Land,” has officially announced its new drum majors for the upcoming football season.
Joshua Ford, a fourth-year student from Gahanna, has been chosen as the band’s 66th drum major. Ford, who has been training for seven years to reach this distinguished role, described the achievement as a family tradition—his uncle previously served as drum major from 1992 to 1993.
Joining Ford in a leadership role is sophomore Brian Speckman, from Saint Mary’s, who will serve as the assistant drum major.
Fans will see the band’s first performance of the 2025 football season during Ohio State’s major home opener against Texas, a highly anticipated matchup expected to feature two top-five teams.
