High River is set to be infused with the joyous sounds of the holiday season as the Buzz Brass quintet graces the stage for an enchanting evening of classics and festive cheer.
Scheduled for Saturday, December 2, at 7:30 p.m. at High River United Church, this concert promises an exceptional showcase of brass instruments—trumpets, horns, and trombones—performed with a blend of intelligence, whimsy, and skill.
Attendees can anticipate a delightful repertoire, including Bach’s uplifting “Let My Spirit Be Joyful” and the timeless favorite “Silent Night.” The program will also feature contemporary pieces like the jolly “Sleigh Ride” and the festive “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”
Since its inception in 2002, the Montreal-based Buzz Brass quintet has captivated audiences across North America, Europe, and China with innovative concert programs, lauded recordings, and an impressive repertoire. The group’s accolades include recognition at Edinburgh’s 2015 Fringe Festival, Beijing’s 2016 Meet in Beijing Arts Festival, and New York’s 2018 Chamber Music America.
Buzz Brass has established collaborative partnerships with symphony orchestras in Gatineau, Sherbrooke, Winnipeg, and Quebec City, along with collaborations with Ottawa’s National Arts Centre Orchestra.
